Robert was born in Detroit on September 24, 1921, the son of James and Hazel (Carlson) Eller. A veteran of WWII, Robert proudly served his country in the US Army. Robert was an avid reader, especially mysteries, and enjoyed current events. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. and was a retiree of the Federal Center in Battle Creek, where he was a systems data analysis. On September 26, 1950, he married Julia Louise Townsend, and she preceded him in death on May 24, 2000. Robert is survived by sons, Thomas (Kelly Hicks) Eller of Kalamazoo, and Paul (Carol Branch) Eller of Kalamazoo; daughters, Linda (Philip) Stedge of Kalamazoo, Maggie Eller of Kalamazoo, and Mary (Dan) Croteau of Port Huron, six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul W. Eller, Thomas Eller, and Don Eller; sisters, Shirley Ficho, and Susan Johnston. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no servi! ces. Memorial contributions to: Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or the Salvation Army will be appreciated.
