Jill will be remembered most for her laugh, love of people, her boas and tiaras and her volunteerism. Jill spent a life dedicating her time and heart to others. As a teen in the 1970s, she was the first chairperson and eventually president of the PCOC Youth Advisory Board and member of its Board of Directors and also volunteered to answer crisis lines at Gryphon Place and the YWCA Domestic Assault Program. Over her 30-year working career, Jill worked at the American Cancer Society, the YWCA Domestic Abuse Shelter, Biggs Gilmore Advertising, Industrial Equipment News, and most recently Girl Scouts of Glowing Embers Council (GSGEC). At GSGEC Jill, known as "Lightbulb", wore many hats. During her employment there, she ran the council store, directed Wonder Woode Day Camp, was a district program director, and ran the Summer Fun camp and Cookie ! Clue as well as many other programs. With Girl Scouts, Jill was heavily involved with the American Heart Association "Go Red" Program, EMS Camp 911, different animal rescue shelters, the Walk for the Homeless, Peace Jam, ACS Relay for Life and many more. Due to her exemplary service, Jill was nominated four years for the Star Award. She was also the beloved leader of two Girl Scout troops from Portage Central (386 and 368) where she dove in head first as much more than just a role leader and more of a second mom for her Girl Scouts.
