"Jerry" (Kozar) Age 75 Of Jenison Formerly of Kalamazoo Was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 26, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gladys Kozar. Jerry was a strong woman of faith and character. Her perseverance in every situation in life was evident to all who knew her. She also had the gift of hospitality and cooking; always having plenty of food for all who gathered at her home. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Russell Povenz; her children, Russell Jr. and Mary Povenz of Wyoming, Cathleen and John Mulder of Hudsonville, Kevin and Kari Povenz of Jenison, Joseph Povenz of Zeeland, Steven and Michele Povenz of Hudsonville; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Marilyn Kozar, Shirley and John Heuser; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 11:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Church, 2700 Baldwin St., Jenison, MI with Fr. Ronald Hutchinson, celebrant. Interment Mt. Everest Cemetery, Kalamazoo, MI. Those ! who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice - Trillium Woods or Lack's Cancer Center at Saint Mary's Hospital. Relatives and friends may meet her family at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr., Grandville, MI on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8:00 PM where a Rosary will be held at 8:00 PM, and on Monday at the church from 10-11:00am prior to the service.
