Dorothy was born on May 4, 1936 in Lawton, MI, the daughter of the late John and Louise Novera (Plantz) Polmateer. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her beloved brother and sister-in-law, George and Rochelle Marthinson; by cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her treasured and loyal friend, Katie. Dorothy was a devoted associate at Borgess Hospital for 23 years. After she retired, she continued to work there as a volunteer. She was an active member in many quilting clubs and made dozens and dozens of quilts, which she gave away for the warmth and enjoyment of others. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A private service will take place in the spring.
