Clayton was born July 12, 1920 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a son of Samuel and Mary (Archbold) Gray. During WW II, he served with the U.S. Army as an instructor in ordinance. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with National Water Lift for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He was also a member of Bethany Reformed Church and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Allen Dale Gray and two sisters, Yvonne Marunycz and Margaret Stenger. On December 13, 1941, he was united in marriage to Marjorie R. (VanDyke) Gray, who survives. Also surviving, a son, Gary Allen (Marlene) Gray of West Palm Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Bethany Reformed Church or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family !
