Age 95 Of Houghton Lake Passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at King Nursing Center, Houghton Lake. Ella was born June 22, 1912 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Earl and Thyrza C. (Lamb) Wood. Ella was united in marriage to Ralph C. Hatfield, on June 30, 1931, in Angola, Indiana. Ralph preceded Ella in death. Mrs. Hatfield had resided in Houghton Lake since 2006, coming from Kalamazoo, Michigan and formerly of Harrison. Ella enjoyed crocheting Afghans for her family and friends, sewing and upholstering furniture. Surviving is one son, Terrell "Terry" Hatfield and wife, Joyce of Kalamazoo, Michigan; one daughter, Vivian MacRae and husband, Terry of Houghton Lake; a half sister, Donna Brenn and husband, Bob of Gulf Shores, Alabama; five grandchildren, Rebecca Buccilli of Houghton Lake, Michele Minich, Mark Hatfield, Bradley Hatfield and Todd Hatfield of Kalamazoo; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Ella also was preceded in death by her ! parents, one brother, Wells W. Wood, one sister, Vivian Durren and three grandchildren, Jeff and Doug Jones and Terry Hatfield. In keeping with Mrs. Hatfield's wishes, immediate cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions in memory of Ella may be considered to: Heartland Hospice.
