Age 63 Of Waterford Formerly of Portage Passed away peacefully at his home on February 9, 2008. He was born January 17, 1945, the son of Arnold E. and L. Opal (Captain) Sturdevant. He graduated from Portage High School and Ferris State College and retired from General Motors in Pontiac, MI after 27 years of service. On February 12, 1966, he was united in marriage to Carol A. Frenthway, who survives. Also surviving are his children: Sara (Shawn) Hartman, Anthony (Tammy) Sturdevant, Robert Sturdevant and Cheryl Sturdevant; grandchildren: Shelby, Douglas, Jenna, Lauren, Abby and Katelin; sister, Sharron Fuller of Portage; brothers-in-law Phil Frenthway of Delton and Paul (Jill) Frenthway of Portage; several nieces, nephews, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Robert and Lois Frenthway. David loved the out-of-doors and spending time at the family cabin in the Upper Peninsula. Coats Funeral Home in Waterford, MI was in charge of the funeral which was held on February 12, 2008. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 2/19/2008.
