John was born on April 15, 1917 to the late Martin and Josephine (Rzedkowski) Kolodizieizyck. John was a charter member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church. He enjoyed building and wood working. He was an avid golfer and was inducted in the Kalamazoo Golf Hall of Fame. John was married to Margaret (Dutton) Kolodzieczyk for 68 years. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2008. John was also preceded in death by three grandchildren: Janine Ramona Kolodzieczyk, Krista Caye Kolodizieizyck and Mark-David Kolodzieczyk; a brother, Martin Kolodizieizyck and two sisters, Helen Freeman and Mary Byrd. John is survived by six children and their spouses: Chad (Gerri) Kolodizieizyck of Lake Odessa, MI; Johnny Jack (Gloria) Kolodizieizyck of Augusta, MI; Michael Dutton Kolodizieizyck of Battle Creek, MI; David Stanley (Angelita) Kolodzieczyk of Vicksburg, Libby (Ken) Catt of South Haven, MI and Mark (Bambi) Kolodzieczyk of Ric! hland; nine Grandchildren; four great grandchildren, a sister Irene (Stanley) Kolodzieyczyk of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews and extended family, Josef and Jackie Wrona of Hickory Corners. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at PARCHMENT - REDMOND Funeral Home 2300 East "G" Ave. 349-7735 A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Sunnyside United Methodist Church in Kalamazoo. Pastor John Fisher and Reverend Billy Dalton officiating. Interment of creamins will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Sunnyside United Methodist Church or the Polish-American Scholarship Fund of Greater Kalamazoo.
