Kay was born on November 7, 1916 in Hiversum, Netherlands, the daughter of Peter and Catherine (VanVelzen) VanderKley. Kay was a 1936 graduate from St. Augustine High School. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Parchment. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, cooking and baking. Her summers were spent in Northern Michigan where she enjoyed morel mushroom hunting in the spring. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She married Victor R. Ferguson, Sr. who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Stephanie VanderKley and Johanna Lucking and her sister-in-law, Maxine Sackett. Kay is survived by five children, Patricia (Bob) Seymour, Joan Whiteside, Victor R. Ferguson, Jr., Ann Ferguson (Ronn Barker) and Stephen (Sheryl) Ferguson; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandson; a brother, Peter R. VanderKley, Jr. and several n! ieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 11:00 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Parchment. Fr. James O'Leary Celebrant. A luncheon will be held at the VFW in Augusta following the mass. Interment of cremains will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery and will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Borgess VNA and Hospice.
