She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Peter and her brother, Julian B. Wilson. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy-Suzi (William) Walker and Carol (Jeff) Trosper; three grandsons, Adam Walker, Justin (Leifschon) Walker and David Culham; two great- grandchildren; brother and sister in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Dance was Betty's passion and career. Dancing since the age of five, she has studied, taught, performed and choreographed ballet, modern, tap, jazz and ballroom. Betty was trained and certified in the Cecchetti method of ballet. Her teaching career began at age 12. Betty taught dance throughout southeast and southwest Michigan including 15 years at Western Michigan University. Betty actively danced until the age of 85. Betty graduated from WMU with a teaching degree and Masters in Education. She is a member of Pi Kappa Phi sorority. She taught elementary in the 1940's and early 50's and incorporated dance and oth! er arts into the standard curriculum. Betty volunteered with the Borgess Service League, Kalamazoo and Portage Senior Centers and with WMU's alumni association. She was a breast cancer survivor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Betty had many wonderful lifelong friends. Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM Mon., Feb. 11th with visitation from 2 - 5 PM Sun., Feb. 10th both at REDMOND Funeral Home 4100 S.
