Alan, a gentle soul, was born October 28, 1959 in Kalamazoo, the son of Karl and Diann (Sykora) Zeil and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a 1977 graduate of Loy Norrix High School. Alan is survived by his father and mother; his sisters, Anna (Don) Hamming and Linda (Skip) Wooden, all of Kalamazoo; a niece and two nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Kalamazoo Covenant Church, 5708 East Main St. with Pastor John Kepler, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway, on Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
