During his lifetime John joined the armed forces and served during the Korean Conflict. He spent his working career as a Millwright for General Motors. His family includes cousins, Barbara and Geraldine ENGLISH of Chicago, IL. John was also cared for by several friends and caring neighbors in the Vicksburg area. John died January 30, 1998 at Arbor Ridge Care Center in Galesburg. His Parents John Joseph and Barbara (MIADEZKI) GEIER, and one son, John Jr., preceded him in death. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Rupert, Durham, Marshall and Gren Funeral Home, Vicksburg Chapel where a Liturgy Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Father Tom martin of St. Martin Catholic Church Celebrant. Interment will follow in Vicksburg Cemetery.
