She was born September 1, 1946 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Banks and Ruby Mae (Sheldon) Augusta. She was united in marriage to Otha B. Kelley, Sr. on October 30, 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters. Nona will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Otha B. Kelley, Sr; two daughters, Danna (Donald) Mitchell, Keericha Kelley; a son, VaShawn (Tonya) Augusta-Kelley, all of Kalamazoo, MI; three grandchildren; seven step-children; 18 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mary, Connie, Georgia, Charlene, Linda Gail, and Inette; one brother, Gary, all of Kalamazoo, MI; two sisters-in-law, Jewel Carr, and Anita Turner; one brother-in-law, Robert (Irene) Kelley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and special cousins, Bertha Walker, and Patricia Smith. Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, with a 12:00 No! on Family Hour at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Friends may view 3-6 PM Sunday at the Harper Funeral Home, 521 Douglas Avenue, 342-1000.
