He was born January 11, 1924 in Le Center, MN, the son of Emil and Mabel (Brockway) Thomsen and had lived in the Kalamazoo area since 1960. Bob was a teacher in the Kalamazoo Public Schools for 25 years and had served his country in the United States Navy during WW II. He was an avid photographer and served as a summer camp counselor for many years. On March 6, 1949, he married the former Geraldine Jepsen, who preceded him in death on December 10, 1990. He was also preceded by his parents and an infant daughter, Susan. Bob is survived by his children, Kathy White of Royal Oak, Douglas Thomsen of Kalamazoo, Dr. Dorothy Thomsen and her husband, John Gielarowski of Kissimmee, FL and Gregg Thomsen of Portage; his granddaughters, Sara Thomsen and Laura White; and his great-grandchildren, Lynnette White, Cameron Thomsen and Landon Thomsen. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. The family will! receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E.
