She was born March 28, 1912 in Caldwell County, Kentucky, one of three children to Orie and Lydia (Ashby) Ladd. Louise worked as a bookkeeper for automobile dealerships until her retirement. Surviving are her daughter, Wanda (Philip) Small of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Karen (Greg) Hokenson of Kalamazoo, Ken Small of Rochester, and Chris (Todd) Hartman of Portage; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) Therkildsen, Grace (Luke) Schneider, Michael and Jennifer Hokenson, and Nikki, Joshua, and Jordan Hartman; three great-great-grandchildren, Clayton, and Jeriah Therkildsen, and Olivia Schneider; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death are her parents; one brother, Cecil Ladd; and one sister, Ruby Terrell. Funeral services for Louise will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Pastor Michael O'Berski offi! ciating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of services.
