Kalamazoo Went to be with her Lord Friday, February 15, 2008. Connie was born in Kalamazoo, April 14, 1926, the daughter of Gerrit & Emma (De Vries) Sportel. She was a member of Covenant United Reformed Church. On July 15, 1949, she married John Visser, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Karen (Ken) Bushouse of Richland and Donna (Larry) Boekeloo of Kalamazoo; five grandchildren, Kevin (Rebekah) Bushouse of Kalamazoo, Carrie (Steven) Rynberk of Tinley Park, IL, Laurie Boekeloo of Highland, IN, Julie Boekeloo of Kalamazoo, Karla (Mike) Westra of Holly, MI; two great-grandchildren, William and Anna Westra; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Egbert, Adrian and Ronald Sportel and two sisters, Wilma Molenaar and Ruth Tacoma. Private family committal services will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial Services will be held 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Covenant United Reformed Church, 3724 Lovers Lane, with Dr. Simon J. Ki! stemaker, John's cousin, officiating. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of S.W. Michigan. Friends will be received at the funeral home beginning Wednesday afternoon where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. JOLDERSMA & KLEIN 917 S.
