Mrs. Van Gemert was born in Kalamazoo, November 29, 1907, the daughter of Klaas & Grace (Zichterman) VanDenBerg. She was a member of Heritage Christian Reformed Church. On June 28, 1929, she married Peter Van Gemert, who preceded her in death on February 17, 1991. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John VanDenBerg and Christian VanDenBerg and four sisters, Jennie VanDenBerg, Minnie Scholten, Gertrude Jager and Grace Nieboer. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Geraldine Van Gemert of Parchment; four grandchildren and their spouses, Julie K. (Daniel) Ymker of Armour, SD, Steven R. (Alice) Van Gemert of Kalamazoo, John H. (Sharon) Van Gemert of Kalamazoo and Vicki J. (Gerwin) Bouman of Norwich, Ont.,Canada; 25 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the funeral home beginning Thursday evening where services will be held 11 o'cloc! k Friday morning with her nephew, Rev. James H. Scholten, officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to Park Village Pines or the charity of one's choice. The family will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 on Thursday.
