Kalamazoo, MI Went home to be with the lord Saturday evening February 16, 2008. Ronald was born May 31, 1922 in Wichita, Kansas a son of John W. and Irene M. (Dunham) Roeder. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army 5th Infantry Division. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Mead Products for 41 years, retiring in 1982. For the past nine years, he worked for Sam's Club. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church in Salt Springs, FL. He was also a member of the Baptist Men's Prayer Breakfast; Kalamazoo County 4H Leadership Program; and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janice Meyer on August 5, 2005; and a sister, Winifred Fulzenloger. On August 12, 1978, he was united in marriage to Eleanor J. (Boyer) Roeder who survives. Also surviving, five children, Elaine (Dana) Tremblay of Kalamazoo, Ronald (Carol) Roeder of Monument, CO, Rodney (Iletha) Poolman of Marcellus, MI, Robin G! lomski of Kalamazoo, Bob Meyer of Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy (Betty) Roeder of Portage; a sister, Dorothy Beetch of Batesville, AR; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Thursday at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 2031 East Cork St. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery with full military honors.
