SUMMERVILLE - Of Schoolcraft, MI, died Friday, October 31, 1997. Barbara was born June 7, 1928 in Lovells, MI the daughter of Ervin H. and Violet M. (KINNEY) BURMEISTER. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was employed at Pharmacia & Upjohn for 20 years. She was a member of the Schoolcraft United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a former member of the Sweet Adelines. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Donna PERRY and brothers, Ron, Tommy, Lee and Vernon BURMEISTER. On February 18, 1949, she was united in marriage to Gale F. SUMMERVILLE, who survives. Also surviving are two children and their spouses, Rhonda & Gary KRUEGER of Paw Paw and Doug & Deb SUMMERVILLE of Fulton; one granddaughter, Joani PRESTON; four grandsons, Ben & A.J. SUMMERVILLE and Ryan & Richard KRUEGER; great-granddaughter, Katherine Elaine PRESTON; four sisters, Betty KONOSKI of Flint, Ruth FRITZLER of Texas, Beverly BETKE of Plainwell and Pat MASIWCHU! K of Lake; two brothers, Jim BURMEISTER of Traverse City; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1:00 o'clock Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with the Rev. Laura C. Truby officiating. Entombment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Portage Chapel on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
