She was born April 28, 1920 in Rock Island, IL, to the late William J. and Martha H. (Siewert) Selbig. Ruth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and retired as secretary / treasurer from Unifab Corp., after 50 years. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed knitting, talking on the phone, and watching hot-air balloons. She also loved to travel, especially to Florida and to Tennessee to visit cousins. She loved sitting for her great-niece and nephew when they were younger. Surviving Ruth are nieces, Mary (Uli) Wegner, Marjorie (Alan) Gest; nephew, John (Sheryl) Pickron; special cousin, companion and caregiver, Carol Rolando; great-nieces, Tracey (Pat) Hughes, Katrin Wegner, great nephew, Travis (Evelyn) Gest; great-great-niece and nephew, Kyle and Haley Hughes; cousins, Janet Rolando and Don (Sandra) Rolando. Preceding her in death were her sisters, Esther Pickron and Dorothy Crawford; nephew, Roger Pick! ron and special great-nephew, Bobby Pickron. Memorial services for Ruth will be Thursday, Jan. 7th, 2:00 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, Oshtemo. Pastors Louis Grother and Larry Brelje will officiate. Visitation will take place one-hour prior to services.
