During his last days, he was surrounded by his beloved family. David was a radio broadcaster, best known for having brought the Doo Dah Parade to Kalamazoo and for being the Doc Holiday component of the Holiday and King radio show. He will be remembered as an avid golfer and Detroit Tigers' fan, a sports enthusiast in general, a kind, intelligent, witty, and loving husband and father, a lover of music, literature, the theater, his friends, as well as an expert on rock & roll, the Civil War, the Old West, baseball, national, international and geopolitics. David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judith; his children, Patricia, of Houston, Texas; Amy Anderson (Blaine) of Byron Center, Michigan; Timothy (Rachael) of New Orleans, Louisiana; a granddaughter, Ashley Anderson; cousins James Meacham of Lincolnshire, England and Robert Cornwell, of Lansing, Michigan; a br! other-in-law, Robert Rose, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two nephews, a great-niece and a great-nephew; special friends of over forty years' duration Robert Salmon of Modesto, California, Timothy Shank, of Augusta, Michigan, Leo Swiat, of Vicksburg, Michigan and David Warner of Hickory Corners, Michigan. He will be missed and remembered with affection and kindness by all who knew him well. Cremation and a private family service have taken place. Those wishing to make lasting gifts in David's name are requested to remember the Salvation Army, Loaves and Fishes, The Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or a charity of one's choice.
