She was enrolled in the RN program at Kellogg Community College and is remembered for her exuberant personality which attracted people from all walks of life. Dana's nursing professor states that she instilled energy into the RN program, bringing compassion, vitality, and encouragement to her fellow students. Dana lived her too short lifetime to its fullest. Among many other adventures, she once traveled with her father to Africa as a missionary. She is survived by her parents, her sisters, Rachel, Rebecca, and Abigail Sowers, and her brothers, Benjamin and Anthony Sowers. She is also survived by her grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Henry Klos of St. Joseph, MI and by numerous extended family members. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Sunday February 24 at 4:00 PM at the Paw Paw Seventh-day Adventist church. Memorial contribut! ions may be made to the Dana Joy Sowers Educational Fund for her siblings' college education, c/o the Paw Paw SDA Church, 60409 M-40 South, Paw Paw, MI 49079 or to the Kellogg Foundation Nursing Scholarship Fund in her memory, 450 North Ave., Battle Creek 49017.
