He was born November 25, 1945 to Glen H. and Effie Z. (Sloan) Ross. He married his wife, Cindy on April 15, 1977. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Ross; his children with his first wife, Donna (Smith) Ross-Thomas E. (Vicki) Ross, Barbara M. Falor, and Paul D. (Kim) Ross; stepchildren, Scott Collard, Janet (Jack) Hall; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Harold H. Ross, Delores (Gene) George, Evelyn (Evie) Cartwright, Nancy Austin, Betty (Art) Davidson, Thomas E. (Jenie) Ross, and Roger L. (Becky) Ross; Uncle Floyd Sloan, Aunt Mary Ross, Aunt Dorothy Sloan; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins. Floyd enjoyed picnics, camping, and being around people. He worked at James River in Parchment for more than 20 years. He was always generous with his friends and families, willing to help out in any way he could. A memorial service will be held on March 6, 2010 at 2 PM at Haven Reform Church (5350 North Sprinkle Road in Kalamazoo), officiated by Pastor Keith Lomon. Floyd made a difference just by being who he was, his inner light shone bright and! touched lives both near and far, and even now that he's gone, he still forever plays a part in the smiles, the priceless moments, that are treasured in the heart.
