"Teco" Portage Passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010, with family by his side, at his home where he lived with his wife, Marsha, grandson, Dakota Hall, and loyal dog, Missy. He was born on March 22, 1941, the son of the late Richard and Anna (Nuyen) Wuis. Ron was a genuine man, whose easy going spirit and fun-loving personality made him a joy to be around. He was a very recognizable man because of his height, and everyone knew when he walked into a room. He was a faithful and loyal husband, father, and friend, who always put others before himself. He was a hard worker who was employed by Consumers Power for 30 years. He was a selfless man who volunteered with the Comstock & Eastwood Firefighters. He was a Red Coat security guard at Wings Stadium, and was President of the Portage-Schoolcraft Eagles #3531 for many years. When not working or volunteering, he could be found doing yard work, rooting for his Detroit Lions, and Michigan Wolverines, or enjoying a moment spent with family and friends! over a cold beer. On September 11, 1987, he married his wife, Marsha (Lewis) Wuis who survives. Ron is also survived by four children, SMSgt Ronald (Ruth) Wuis Jr., Jody (Jeffrey) Bohnsack, Tammy (Tim) Fitzgerald, Thom Hall, David (Becky) Wuis; ten grand-children and one great-granddaughter, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great friends. Ron was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Sue Wuis; and a grandson, Hunter Hall. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a tribute luncheon on Monday, March 22, 2010, at 5:30 PM at the Portage-Schoolcraft Eagles on Shaver Rd. Condolences may be sent to the family at 11215 Oakland Dr., Portage, MI 49024. JOLDERSMA & KLEIN 917 S.
