Age 87 Of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away on March 25, 2010 at home. Floyd was born on October 23, 1922 in Kimberly, WI the son of George and Dora (Weyenberg) Vosters. He served in the US Army Air Force during WWII. Shot down over the North Sea, he was captured and spent fourteen months in a German P.O.W. camp. He received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained during capture. Floyd was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cyril Vosters. Surviving are five children: Lawrence "Larry" (Barbara) Vosters of Chelsea, MI; Valerie (Peter) Vander Elzen of Gladwin, MI, David Vosters of Comstock, MI, Paul Vosters of Missoula, MT and Mark (Laurie) Vosters of Fife Lake, MI; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a sister, Joan Peeters of Kalamazoo; a sister-in-law, Jane Vosters of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 4-7 PM at PARCHMENT REDMOND Funeral Home 2300 East G Ave. (269) 349-7735 Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 29, 2010 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Parchment. Fr. James O'Leary Celebrant. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM in Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
