She was born December 14, 1909 in Linden, Michigan, the eldest child born to James and Bessie (Cox) Kimble. Autum's beloved, loyal, faithful husband of 67 years, John (Jack) LaPine went to be with our Father on May 6, 1996 and their oldest daughter, Dolores Jean Schley on March 28, 2001. Autum was also preceded in death by brothers, Palmer Kimble, Merwin Campbell and a sister, Doris Norris. Autum is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Lee Henke of Richland; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Pauline Campbell. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Autum was a great mom, homemaker, gardener, interior and exterior painter, sewed, crocheting, and many other chores that happened to come along. She dearly loved her family and helped in any way that she could. A special granddaughter, Janice, who grew up in their household, was very loyal and did many wonderful things for her grandparen! ts, especially for Autum in her last remaining years of life. A gathering of friends will take place, Thursday, May 1, 2008, 6 to 8 PM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home, Delton. A private family burial service at Cedar Creek Cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Delton Seventh Day Adventist Church or Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services will be appreciated. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 4/29/2008.
