Age 88 Of Richland, MI Died Sunday afternoon, April 27, 2008, at the Laurels of Galesburg. Dorothy was born on April 16, 1920 in Park Lake, MI and was the daughter of Edward and Ruby (Price) Ordiway. She retired in 1980 after 30 years of faithful service from the Paper Mill business, where she had been an assembly line worker. Dorothy enjoyed canning, flowers, knitting and crocheting, but her passion was her family. On August 22, 1936 in Angola, IN, she married Melvin J. Blanchard and he survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Joyce M. (Richard) Wank and Audrey R. (Jay) Putt, both of Augusta, MI, Ovonah J. (Richard) Warner of Galesburg, MI and Gayle L. Blanchard of Richland, MI; a son Dean S. (Cynthia) Blanchard of Richland; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two sisters Helen Kingsbury and Onalee (Sherman) Potter-both of Kalamazoo, MI. She was preceded in death her parents; her son Marvin E. Blanchard in 1938 and by two brothers; Raymond and Edward Jay Ordiway. At the request of ! the family, friends may call today, April 29th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the FARLEY-ESTES & DOWDLE Richland Chapel 9170 East D Avenue 269-629-6022 The funeral service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 11:00 AM at the Richland Chapel with the Rev. Stephen M.G. Charnley, Pastor of the Gull Lake United Methodist Church, officiating. The graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 2:30 PM at the Alamo (Township) Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Dorothy's honor may be made to the Borgess Visiting Nurse & Hospice, 348 N. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, MI, 49007 or to the Charity of one's choice.
