Of Portage, MI Died Wednesday morning, May 21, 2008. Arthur was born December 6, 1925 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a son of Paul and Edith (Schilling) Keefe. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Upjohn Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1983. In 1962, he received the William E. Upjohn Award for his dedicated service. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara J. Keefe on July 16, 1997; and a sister, Laura Morris. He is survived by two sons, James Keefe of Portage and Mark Keefe of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Dorothy Brewer of Yucca Valley, CA; a sister-in-law, Mary (Robert) Zylman of Portage; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday. Interment will be in South Portage Cemetery.
