She was born on November 3, 1948 in Jackson, Michigan, to Lea and Phyllis Allen. Deb earned her B.S. degree in social work from WMU. She married John on January 19, 1974. She worked helping children and families in adoptive and foster care with Calhoun County Family and Children's Services until 1980 when she began caring for her own children. In September of 1991, Deb became employed as a parent educator and social worker with the Allegan Area Educational Service Agency through September of 2007. She gently touched the lives of many people. Deb was preceded in death by her father. Surviving are her husband, John; her sons, Brandon (Emily), Jonathon and Gabriel; mother, Phyllis Allen; brothers, Gordon (Teri) and Todd (Shelli) Allen and nephews, Chad and Paco (Allison) and nieces, Mia, Stacey and Paige. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center or Borgess Hospice Service. A cele! bratory gathering will be held at the Gull Lake United Methodist Church in Richland on May 17th from 1 to 3 PM. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
