He was home with his family by his side. Bob was born April 8, 1934 in Manistique, MI in the Upper Peninsula and was raised in Paradise and later came to the Kalamazoo area to work. In 1993, he retired from R&L Electric and later worked in deer processing for 8 years, plus other odd jobs. He was a proud member of the Augusta V.F.W. Post #7956 and a life member of the Sault Ste. Marie Band of the Chippewa Indian Tribe. He loved sports, bowling and ice fishing. Bob was preceded in death by his father Leo Cherette, his mother Eva Cherette, and a brother Leo Cherette. On March 15, 1980, he married Betty who survives. Also surviving are a brother Ron (Dee) of Bay Mills, MI, a sister Nancy (Louie) Biss of Nashville, TN, a brother Vern of Norway, MI, a sister Shirlee (Roy) Coombe of Bangor and a brother Marvin of Gladstone, MI; his children, Mike Cherette of Richland, Teresa (Gerry) ! Schulz of Pine Lake and Lisa (Tim) Allen of Plainwell; grandchildren, Maria Pueblo, Robert (Ashley) Pueblo, Alan Cherette, Thomas and Jessica Hollman; great grandchildren, Timmee Pueblo and Hailey Pueblo and a very special stepdaughter Teri Cole of Jacksonville, FL and a stepson Michael Morford of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews; three long time friends and helpers, Gary Peterson, Marty Lachapelle and Jerry Verbanac. It was Bob's wishes to be cremated. A gathering to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Tuesday, May 27th at 3:00 PM at the Augusta V.F.W. Post #7956, 13540 West M-96 Augusta. His final resting place will be July 5th in Paradise, MI (All friends are welcome). Donations may be made to Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice or the Augusta V.F.W. Post #7956.
