Of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008. He was born December 15, 1928 in Comstock, the son of Lewis H. and Anna M. Eager and was a lifelong resident of Comstock. He was an owner-operator of a Pepperidge Farms franchise for 27 years and had served his country in the United States Navy in the Airship Squadron from 1948 to 1952. John loved his family and was an avid lover of sports, especially golf and bowling. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jane Eager; their two sons, Kip (Pat) Eager of Augusta and Kris (Claire) Eager of Richland; four grandchildren, Kyle, Kurt, Devan and Dana; a sister, Shirley Meints of Grand Haven; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack Eager. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service for his family and their close friends, will be conducted on Friday at 11 AM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway with Rev. James Dyke, officiating. No! visitation is being planned and a private interment will be held at a later date.
