Of Kalamazoo/Troy, MI Ruth was born Ruth F. Spangler, February 4, 1917 in Chicago, IL. She grew up in Chicago where she met her future husband, John H. Standish during World War II. They were married on May 25, 1942. Ruth was a resident of Kalamazoo, MI for most of her married life. Ruth spent the last few years in Troy, MI with her son, Tom. Ruth passed away on April 17, 2008 after a short illness. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years on September 22, 1996. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Ruth's immediate family includes her sons, John, Tom, Mark, Jeff and their wives; 10 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. Ruth was laid to rest next to her husband on April 18, 2008 in the family plot in Hillside Cemetery, Plainwell, MI after a graveside service. They are together again for the rest of eternity.
