Beth was born on September 13, 1914 in Benton Harbor, MI. On October 10, 1936, she married Edmond Woodruff, who died September 11, 1981. On August 21, 1983, she married childhood friend, Ernest Shipman, DDS, who died September 25, 1996. Beth was a resident of both Kalamazoo and Palm Springs, CA, her winter home for the past 35 years. She was actively involved in both communities serving on boards and committees. A common cause of the organizations revolved around the well being of children. Beloved by family and friends she was the spirit and strong thread that generated strength to the family fabric intertwining family history, friendships and values. Beth is survived by her three children, Robert Woodruff, Lynn Woodruff Bear, James Woodruff (Margaret); eight grandchildren, Andrew Woodruff, Peter Woodruff (Amanda), John Hotop, Emily Hotop Anglin (Phil), Mark Hotop, Jennifer Linna H! alsall (Greg), Nancy Bear, David Woodruff; three great-grandchildren, Ian Woodruff, Grace Anglin, Rocco Anglin and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service and internment will be May 8, 2008 at the St. Luke's Episcopal Church Chapel at 11 AM. Those wishing to honor Beth's memory are invited to contribute to The Edmond B Woodruff and Beth Woodruff Shipman Memorial Scholarship Foundation at The Kalamazoo Community Foundation, 151 S.
