Some of those occupations were unknown to me. Eugene is my grandfather and Edward his brother. Edward is the last surviving sibling and I've been meaning to write him a letter with questions but just haven't yet. I also didn't have that first wife of Edward's either, so thank you. And yes, Lambert was my grandmother's first husband. He died in WWII. zlatica, thank you for the information and links. I've seen several spellings of my last name including MEIDON and that it is generally pronounced MY-don whereas now we pronounce it as MAY-jon.
