Age 80 Of Portage Passed away April 28, 2008 at Park Place Living Center. Alice was born in Ann Arbor, MI on August 3, 1927, the daughter of Arthur H. and Louise (Taubert) Steele. Alice is a University of Michigan graduate and worked as a medical lab technologist for Dr. Harrelson, the Portage Medical Clinic and I.R.D.C. in Mattawan. Alice was a proficient crossword puzzle solver, enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together, and listening to classical music. She had a love for animals, especially her dog, Otis, who preceded her in death. She was a wonderful and patient mother. She had a great life and will be missed by those who knew her. Alice is survived by her son, Art (Suzie) Burke of Williamston, MI; daughter, Carol (Doug) Berger of Schoolcraft, MI; two granddaughters, Emily and Allison Berger and a sister, Louise Hauenstein of Ann Arbor, MI. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The family's grateful tha! nks go to the kind and caring people of Park Place Living Center and Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kalamazoo Humane Society, or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. Arrangements by the REDMOND Funeral Home 4100 S.
