He served his country during W.W. II in the U.S. Navy on the Nashville. Roy loved to fish, loved nature, was a devoted husband and father, and a member of the Sparta Baptist Church. He was employed and retired from Muskegon Piston Ring in Sparta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corinne; brother, Willis Davis. He is survived by his son, Lee and Kay Davis; daughter, Cindy and Rev. Peter Zull; seven grandchildren; four great -grandchildren; sister, Mary Johnson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 3:00 PM at the Hessel-Cheslek Funeral Home in Sparta with his grandson, Rev. Isaac Zull officiating. As Roy had wished, cremation has taken place and inurnment of his cremains will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Sparta. Friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 until time of service. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 5/4/2008.
