Born in Lancaster, he lived in the Kalamazoo area for about 25 years, working as a supervisor for Allied Paper Co. for 20 years and also as a supervisor of students in paper processing at Western Michigan University. He returned to Lancaster County in 1964, where he worked for five years for the Lancaster County Association for the blind. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; his mother, Anita FARREL of Monroe; five sons, William G. Jr. of Schoolcraft, Lee of Kalamazoo, Kevin of the Kalamazoo area, Lloyd of Kalamazoo and James SCHMITT of New Danville, Pa.; two daughters, Lynn MCCARTY of Vicksburg and Anita Farrel of the Kalamazoo area; six grandchildren; a stepson, Michigan GREEN of Chardwell, MO; a stepdaughter, Michele GREEN, also of Chardwell; a brother, Richard of Lancaster; a sister, Mary STRUBEL of Lancaster; and a half-sister, Donna WAGONER of Monroe. A memorial service w! as held Friday in Lancaster.
