Naoma was born February 20, 1921 in Kalamazoo, to Lena Mae (Dooley) and Francis Roberts. She moved to Schoolcraft and then to Three Rivers where she graduated from high school. She worked as a waitress at Chicken Charlies and the Beacon Club in Kalamazoo. Later she was hostess at the Janesville Country Club in Janesville, WI. Upon retiring, she returned to reside in Kalamazoo. Naoma loved life, her family, and trips to Las Vegas and the local casinos. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at Comstock Towers and Bingo. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Memorial donations may be made to: Kairos Dwelling, 2945 Gull Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49048-1278. She is survived by her children, Linda (Jim) Brinkman of Bronson, MI, Karen "Ruste" (Tom) Dickerman of Kalamazoo, and Douglas Davis; a daughter-in-law, Edith Marlin of Watervliet, MI; her step-children, Larry (Norlene) Mai! n of Buffalo City, IA, Carol (John) Benac of Fruitland, IA, Richard (Melissa) Lucas of Rockford, IL and Sharon Thiltgen of Belvedere, IL; 29 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Beatrice Judah of South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Russell Davis; her husband, Dick Lucas; son, Dick Davis and three brothers, Harold, Dick and Donald Roberts. There will be no services as cremation has taken place. A private family burial of ashes will be held at a later date in Schoolcraft cemetery. Hutchins Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 7/8/2008.
