ROE - Climax, MI, Died Sunday, September 28, 1997. LaVern was born December 12, 1909 in Wakeshma Township, the son of Melvin and Elizabeth (PIERCE) ROE; and had been a lifelong Climax resident. He was employed in road and highway construction by Carl Goodwin & Sons of Allegan, retiring in 1969; he also had his own excavating company for many years. He was a member of the AFL-CIO Local #324 Operating Engineers; and a life member of Climax Prairie Masonic Lodge #59 F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez ROE in 1983. Surviving are 2 sisters, Wilma TALMAGE of California. Made MEADS of Alma; many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Langeland Climax Chapel Family Funeral Homes 205 E. Maple St. with Rev. Mr. David Hills, of Climax United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Climax Prairie Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Climax chapel on Wednesday one hour prior to service time.
