Ron was born in Kalamazoo on October 22, 1933, the son of William and Elanor (Koenigs) Jackson. He was a professional baseball player and founder of the Ron Jackson Insurance Agency and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Donald Jackson. Ron is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Plantefaber, whom he married January 29, 1953. Also surviving are four children and their families, Mark and grandchildren, Adam and Taylor Jackson, Martha Jackson Hall (Steven), granddaughter, Lindsey (Nick) Umstead and great-granddaughters, Sophia and Layla and granddaughter, Ashley Hall, daughter, Teresa (Donald) Knoechel, grandchildren, Andrew, Kathryn and Samuel Knoechel, daughter, Jennifer (Darren) Conklin, grandchildren, Jonathon and Emily Conklin. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist church, 212 S. Park St. Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11 AM, Rev. D! ouglas Vernon, officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow at at the Seelye Center at WMU. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the WMU Baseball Stadium Renovation Project or Rose Arbor Hospice.
