Alan L. Of Vicksburg Went home to be with the Lord, Sunday evening, July 6, 2008. Alan was born May 20, 1942, the son of Lavern and Elsie (Stauffer) Hulliberger. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1964. Prior to his retirement, Alan was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene serving congregations in Greenville, Clare, Lansing and Saginaw. After retiring from the ministry, he worked as an accountant with McDonald and Associates for several years. Alan was a member of the Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, skiing, riding motorcycles, camping, and needlework. Besides his parents, Alan was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Batterbee. On September 12, 1964, he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Sherry Cummings, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Gregory (Sheri) Hulliberger, Julie Krieger; three grandchildren, Mickayla and Abbigayle Hulliberger, and Hunter Krieger; brother a! nd sisters, David (Nancy) Hulliberger, Doris (Lavern) Beckwith, Alice Granger, Kathy (Alex) Powell; and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Alan's life will be held 10 AM Thursday at the Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene, 7520 East U Ave with Rev. Mark Riggs and Dr. John Seaman, officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre.
