Florence was born August 3, 1922 in Kalamazoo and was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Magee) Ritchie. She was united in marriage with the late Donald A. Falvey on December 23, 1941 and was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a natural organizer and always available to help others. She was a dedicated volunteer with the American Cancer Society for over 25 years and was very active in her church. Throughout her life, Florence enjoyed many activities with her friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Florence is survived by her sister, Helen Brevitz of Wayland, Michigan; four daughters, Charlene and Bob Trimper of London, England, Kathleen and Dick Crookston of Atlanta, GA, Sharon and Lars Svendsen of Kalamazoo, MI and Molly and Richard Macaulay of Vail, CO; 16 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews.Friends may spend time with the Falvey Family Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and a Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church at 2010 Nichols Rd. Kalamazoo, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 7/1/2008.
