She was born on July 24, 1915 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Freeland L. and Blanch (WHITTEMYER) GALBREATH. The former Virginia GALBREATH married W. Cleland RUSELL on March 23, 1935 in Kalamazoo. He predeceased her on July 11, 1997. She had been employed in food service at various schools in the Kalamazoo area for several years. She was a member of the Wickwire Chapter #57 Order of the Eastern Star. She was Grand Electa in the Adair-Russell Grand Family from 1972-1973. She was later a member of Loyalty #497 of Kalamazoo. Mrs. RUSSELL is survived by three children, Kay and her husband, Larry HALE of Midland, David and his wife, Teri of Rochester, MN, and William of Waterford; by one sister Barbara SCHWARTZ of Kalamazoo; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In accordance with Mrs. RUSSELL's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
