Age 86 Of Comstock, Twp. Passed away on July 1, 2008 at Kairos Dwelling. Stanley was born on September 24, 1921, to the late Ignatius and Mechlena (Kozea) Kolodzieyczyk. Stanley was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII serving in the Pacific Theater and participated in the third wave that landed on Iwo Jima, Japan. Stanley enjoyed golfing. He was a handy man who built his own home. He helped build the new St. Mary's Catholic Church where he was an active member. Stanley was preceded in death by a brother, Stephian and three sisters, Helen White, Stella Ouding and Wanda Owens. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Irene (Kolodzieczyk), to whom he married November 17, 1951; a sister, Irene (Russell) Bjorkman of Jackson, MI; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Jack Dalm and Julius Kozerski. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 3, 2008 from 10-11 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 939 Charlotte, where Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11 AM. Fr. Robert Sirico, celebrant. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kairos Dwelling or the Humane Society.
