RODEWALD - Kalamazoo, MI, died Friday morning, January 16, 1997. Mr. RODEWALD was born June 26, 1906 in Elkhart, IN the sons of Emil and Bertha (SCHULTS) RODEWALD and attended Elkhart HIgh School and Chicago Technical College. He was employed in several types of engineering, in including chief engineer for Dobbin Manufacturing Company and had engineered miscellaneous war contracts for C. G. Conn during World War II. He later became sales engineer for Skinner Irrigation and Hardie Manufacturing Company. After his retirement, he formed the Irrigation Design and Repair Company and was an AARP tax consulare for 25 years. He was a 50 year member of the Elkhart Kane Masonic Lodge #183, also a Yorkrite Mason, Past Illustrious Master of Elkhart Council #79 and Past Commander of Elkhart Commandery #31. He was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Kalamazoo where he served on the Board of Trustees where he was in charge of church and property maintenance. Surviving is his wife Fern; 2 sons and 2 daughters, Paul and Elizabeth RODEWALD and Thomas and Ellen RODEWALD, Joyce TAYLOR and Ruth Ann and William OWENS; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 o'clock on Saturday, January 24, at the First Congregational Church, 129 S. Park St. with the Rev. Dr. Robert Noblett officiating.
