She was born near Columbus, OH, the daughter of Olive (STEDMAN) and Homer John CRAIN. She graduated from Detroit Teachers College, and attended the University of Wisconsin. She taught in the Kalamazoo Public Schools from 1964-1980. She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, where she served as Second Reader, and for many years in the Sunday School, and was past President of Service Club Honoraries. In 1928, she married Paul RICKMAN, who preceded her in death on October 13, 1973. Surviving are her children, Thomas (Annette) Edward RICKMAN, who preceded her in death on October 13, 1973. Surviving are her children, Thomas (Annette) Edward RICKMAN of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Peg (Thomas) BOWERS of Berea, KY, Mrs. Marti (Jerry) GRIMES of Petrolia, TX; 9 grandchildren, Scott, Brett, and Susanna RICKMAN, Douglas and Diane BOWERS, Debbie COFFEY, Dorothy STALEY, Darlene PASKOVICS, and Denise BEARDSLEY; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Stedman CRAIN of New Port Richey, FL. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Crain ALLEN THOMPSON in 1977.
