Good Morning listers, We are planning another trip from Washington state to Kalamazoo to search for Maple Dale burial site. Our James H. YEO who was a veterinary surgeon in Kalamazoo, died 8 Apr 1891 in Kalamazoo, the obituary appearing in the Kalamazoo Gazette 8 Apr 1891 did not list a burial site until family was notified. The funeral notice Kalamazoo Gazette 9 Apr 1891, said funeral from son's home and burial in Maple Dale. We have checked the local cemeteries and no Maple Dale, checked in at the library last trip through and no one heard of Maple Dale. Would love to find this but do not know where to look, any help with this would sure be appreciated. As we will searching in the Kalamazoo area can anyone help out with a good clean hotel in the area. Last time we were too far out of town. Plans to be there Oct 10th or 11th for 2-3 days. Thanks and Good luck in your research. Judy K Tacoma, WA

So if someone died in another county & they lived in Kalamazoo Co. it might be listed a foreign death in Kalamazoo Co. & the death record would be kept in the county of death. A man of even tenor, courteous and dependable in all his business dealing, Mr. Warren's passing is a shock to the community, and he will be missed by a host of friends outside his immediate family, all of whom have the sincere sympathy of everybody. Mr. Warren had been troubled with a heart ailment the past few years, and had found it best to curtail some of his more energetic activities, thought all the time giving his personal attention to the conduct of his business. He is survived by his wife, Eloise; one daughter, Mrs. Page DeLand of Fairport; one brother, Arthur, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Jean and Warren DeLand. Rev. Lee Fletcher, pastor of the Congregations church, whieh which Mr. Warren was identified, officiated at the largle attended funeral service, which was held at the family home, 74 West Church street, Sunday afternoon. A great profusion of flowers, including a large floral piece from the buriness interests of the village, attested to the high esteem in which Mr. Warrren was held by his associates and neighbors.
