(Roscoe) Of Tendercare Portage My mother passed away on May 19, 2008 at the age of 95. She was born to Pearl (Caley) Roscoe and Dale Roscoe on March 22, 1913 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was united in marriage to my dad, Elmer E. Kader on March 22, 1947, who preceded her in death on February 7, 1987. Dorothy has had several different occupations throughout her lifetime, but the most recent, prior to her retirement, was the restaurant business. She and my father owned and operated Elmer's Roadhouse for several years until health problems made it impossible to continue. After that, they spent time together enjoying each other and their grandchildren. Mom loved baking her wonderful sugar cookies, doing crossword puzzles and helping me whenever I needed her. During the past eight years, mother inherited additional family. She had regular visits from Barbara Farraye and the family of Charity Nowak, my mother's roommate for several years. Barbara and Beverly adopted my mom as one of their own. Renee, my moth! er's day nurse, watched over her when I was not always able to. My love goes to all of the people that were so kind to her. I am certain now that my mother is resting peacefully. I am grateful to have been her daughter and I am especially honored to have called her "Mom". I love you mom and I will miss you. Dorothy is survived by me, her only child, Rochelle (Keith) Sears of Kalamazoo. She was a wonderful grandmother to Philip and Ryan Suglia, also of Kalamazoo. Also part of her immediate family is one step-grandson, Kirk Sears of Detroit who became very dear to her heart and a very loving and special friend, Barbara Thompson. Her mother, father, one sister and three brothers preceded her in death, along with my father. Dorothy has been cremated according to her wishes. In celebration of Dorothy's life, a gravesite service will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue, Michigan on a date to be determined, where she will join my father.
