She was married to Herman Zichterman for 69 years. She died February 19, 2010. A negative thought never found a home in Grace's spirit. She was never found without her prayers. She was uncompromisingly committed to her Lord, her husband, and her family. She never found a Kalamazoo Christian sporting event she did not like. She drove a school bus for the Christian schools for 13 years and seemed to view it as a calling. Grace and Herm served in multiple disaster relief teams in the United States and Africa. She would never pass up a good water fight. Grace would never let a family member leave her without a kiss. She battled multiple sclerosis and several other problems, but would always say, "I am just grateful I am as good as I am." The primary beneficiaries of her Godliness are her children and her Children's children, and more - Chris and Barbara Zichterman, Beth and John denHartigh and Stev! en and Mary Zichterman, all of Kalamazoo, and their families, which include, eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Her two sisters, Greta (Ed) Vander Roest and Tillie (Robert) Kloosterman, are still living. Her four brothers, Albert (Betty), Harm (Ann), Ralph (Ellen), and James (Donna) Dykehouse, have died.
