His death record lists father as Alem Whiting and mother as Jessie Coe. I looked up his birth record. It says he was born on Aug. 4, 1880 which is different than you list. I checked the death records for the two parents. Jessie Whiting died soon after his birth on September 21, 1880 of "childbirth and fever". She was 19 years 11months and 3 days old. She was born in Michigan. Alem remarried to Stella Binn on March 2, 1882. An Alem Whiting died in 1940. I also found Alem in the census records at the library. His father was Chauncey Whiting and Mother was Nancy. The family is in Columbia township in 1850, then Liberty Township in 1860 and 1870. Chauncey died August 3, 1903.
